Rhema Word, February 2006: True Love

Taught at the Hosanna Honies Workshop, 02/2006

The entire teaching will be out of Romans, Chapter Five, KJV

When I was inquiring of the Lord what I should bring to the meeting this month, He brought to my remembrance this beauitiful voice I heard singing @ the Prayer Furnance last month. It was during their prophetic worship and she began to sing:

We have what the whole world is looking for, dying for, crying out for...True Love..... True Love....

I kept coming back to that song... True Love... how we don't fully understand the Love that God has for us! He opened my eyes to these simple truths that will change things for you in your walk with Christ forever.

Verse 6: For when we were yet without strength, in due time, Christ dies for the ungodly

**There are two things I want you to notice in this verse: a.) there was a time when we were powerless that we could save ourselves and b.) died for the ungodly. Jay Snell describes ungodly as" not like God... if there is any area in your life that is not like God, this means you..." It is in this condition of no strength that Jesus died for us. His death did not depend on us becoming better people. He died when we were at our lowest point.

Verse 8: But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Being good enough has nothing to do with God's love for us. It was while we were YET sinners, while we were at our weakest, while we were at our most worldly, that God extended His love for you. Selah!

Verse 9: Much more then, being now justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him.

If God focused His love on you while you were disconnected to Him, how much MORE does God love you NOW that you are His daughter? Justified in the Greek means cleared of all guilt. For a Christian, since God loved you while you were at your weakest point, someone unsaved, and you accepted His Love through Christ, you HAVE BEEN CLEARED of ALL GUILT! You are cleared as far as God is concerned.

You must master this salvation! If you don't understand God's love for you, then you will go around thinking you are unworthy. How much more unworthy is a godless sinner? While you were in that same state, instead of wrath, it DREW God's love in the death of Christ! Your weaken state did not stop God from the ultimate act of Love. The difference between you and your former state: you are now guiltless. Guiltless because the Blood of Jesus says so.
