The Untapped Power of the
Prophetic
Part I - Proper Response
to the Prophetic
There is a need
for the true prophetic voices of God to rise up
in the world with increased power, authority and
revelation. It shall be like a sword that will
cut away the continuous inception of the enemy's
deception in this world. But before we delve into
the power of the prophetic, we need to learn the
proper response to the prophetic in our own
lives. The prophetic warriors have got to be
delivered first, to war against the false voices
of this world. This first part series will
explain how a lack of faith in the human heart
can make us addicted to prophetic words, and we
can break the cycle and embrace the word for
fulfillment.
I watched a
man, clad in red, speaking in the television,
something about prosperity or luck in this year.
A group of people, was mesmerized as if the were
listening to Nostradamus talking. It was Chinese
culture for people to read about their fortunes
in the lunar new year. They do this to protect
themselves from harm, and to seek the gods for
more prosperity - health, money, happiness. This
year is not different, in fact this year is
dedicated to a dog, according to Chinese belief.
What absurdity to let a dog determine your
future!
Fortune-telling,
psychics, astrology and geomancy have been in the
top charts of spirituality in the east for
generations. It is no longer just a popularity in
the east, but in the west as well. In fact, there
are increasing new age practitioners that come
from the west. Although it is strictly prohibited
in the bible, many Christians are even tapping
into the alluring yet forbidden secrets of the
occult. People are opening themselves to demonic
possession when they dabble in the occultic
realm. The bible is clear in this issue :
“Let
no one be found among you who sacrifices his son
or daughter in the fire, who practices divination
or sorcery, interprets omens, engages in
witchcraft, or casts spells, or who is a medium
or spiritist or who consults the dead. Anyone who
does these things is detestable to the LORD, and
because of these detestable practices the LORD
your God will drive out those nations before
you.” - Deut 18:10-12
They are not to
be believed.
All the
counsel you have received has only worn you out!
Let your astrologers come forward, those
stargazers who make predictions month by month,
let them save you from what is coming upon you.
Surely they are like stubble; the fire will burn
them up. They cannot even save themselves from
the power of the flame. Here are no coals to warm
anyone; here is no fire to sit by.” - Isa
47:13-14
